    Final Encouragement

Our goal is a “healthy organisation” and not a “perfect organisation”! Perfection is a hard taskmaster. It is unachievable and if you pursue it, you will drive yourself and others. Your organisation will never be perfect, but it can be healthy.

Don’t use this model just to identify weaknesses, but also to build on your strengths.

Don’t divide the four facets. Obviously, there is considerable overlap between all four. In reality, they all work together. Guard against compartmentalising. The four facets are distinct but not separate.

Intentionally think integration across the organisation’s life.

Use this to evaluate your organisation, not someone else’s. It’s a tool for self-examination, not judging of others. Knowledge puffs up; love builds up.

Organisational life will be messy and there will be mistakes. This is not a formula for guaranteed and easy success. We must continually look to God.

This is a tool to help you to think and explore.

Do not use this model merely to create vision statements. Vision is not a statement, it’s your life. In particular, vision is the life of the leaders. Use this model to adjust your life, vision, passion, activity, not just to create a statement. Statements are fine but they become meaningless without the accompanying lifestyle.

Start with small steps. Don’t try to do it all in one go. Be realistic. And when you identify certain small steps to start with, make sure they have a high likelihood of success. If your first, small steps fail, then the people will be much slower to follow you the second time!

Commit yourself to God and move forward with boldness and confidence!
