Building a healthy Christian organisation

Vision and strategy aim to model Jesus’ approach by building a large, multicultural, multi-generational church or organisation; Jesus personally developed 12 leaders, establishing the axiom that leaders build leaders and every leader is called to invest in others.
A common challenge is that many leaders focus on ministry tasks and neglect investing in people personally, even though early church success came from building leaders, not just doing work.
The two-part leadership strategy involves personally building a few leaders through deep investment, as Jesus did, and creating a culture of people-building where everyone grows, serves, learns, and builds others.
Transformation happens through four dynamics: spiritual (connection with the Holy Spirit), relational (modelling, encouragement, correction, and accountability), experiential (learning through doing, challenges, and assignments), and instructional (teaching through the Word of God and practical guidance).
Leaders should master these four dynamics both personally and organisationally to enable transformation.
A culture of leader development moves beyond traditional academic and exclusive models by applying the four dynamics in daily organisational life; healthy organisations allow everyone to contribute to developing others through identification, development, and deployment, with deployment involving ongoing growth beyond formal training.
Implementing the two-part strategy leads to a healthy organisation where continual growth and health are achievable, even though perfection is not the goal.
