Jesus’ fellowship with His Father

Looking at John 1:1, we see that for all eternity the Son of God lived in joyful, self-giving fellowship with the Father and the Holy Spirit.
When Jesus came to earth, He did not leave this fellowship behind but lived in the same inward, loving, continuous union with His Father throughout His earthly ministry.
This inward fellowship with the Father was the source of all of Jesus’ leadership, as He lived in constant dependence on the One who sent Him.
Jesus’ teaching did not come from human learning or training but flowed directly from His union with the Father, which astonished those who heard Him.
This fellowship was also the source of Jesus’ wisdom, enabling Him to speak with perfect clarity, discernment, and authority in every situation.
Jesus’ power came from this same union, as the Father dwelling in Him did His works, and Jesus did nothing apart from what He saw the Father doing.
Because Jesus lived in perfect fellowship with the Father, He revealed the Father to the world, showing that true Christian leadership flows from moment-by-moment dependence on God.
