    Course summary

Well done on completing this course. Here is a summary of the key ideas from the course. We encourage you to discuss what you have learnt with your team.

The church worldwide is facing a leadership crisis. Not only does it have too few leaders, but many of those leaders have weak spiritual lives.

Many Christian leaders are intellectually familiar with God and the things of God, but they are not intimately united with Him on a daily basis.

In the biblical paradigm, however, union with Christ and the Cross, and dependency on the Holy Spirit are at the centre. Jesus Himself is the beginning and end of all Christian leadership. He will not accept second place. He is worthy of absolute pre-eminence in our lives and ministries. Apart from Him, we will accomplish nothing of any lasting value. This is our only solution to the current leadership crisis ‒ Jesus Himself.

“Fellowship is the eternal nature, activity and very essence of God.”

“This experience of divine fellowship is the source of everything in our Christian life and the source of our leadership.”

“Jesus’ leadership came from His union with His father. This is the nature of Christian leadership- absolute dependency on God.”

“It is divine fellowship that enable us to live and lead according to divine life.”

“This is the nature of leader development- to build men and women who know God and who live in dependence of Him.”

    Leaders guide questions:

    • In what ways does your team model dependency on God? What could you start doing to be more intentional in your dependence on God?
    • Spend time together in prayer, looking at God, telling Him what you are going through and listening for His encouragement, guidance, or conviction.
