Examples of leaders in your own experience

A leader helps people move from where they are now to somewhere else.
Leadership means movement.

Please reflect on leaders you have known. Perhaps you have known them personally or even worked with them or for them. Perhaps you only knew them at a distance or heard about them.

A good leader

First identify one good leader you have known.

• Who was he or she leading?
• Where was he or she leading them from?
• Where did he or she lead them to?

Then specifically identify what the leader did in order to achieve the “movement.”
What did they do effectively? How could they have done even better?

A bad leader

Now please identify one bad leader you have known.

• Whom was he or she leading?
• Where was he or she leading them from?
• Where did he or she lead them to?

Then specifically identify what the leader did in order to achieve the “movement.” What did they do effectively? What was necessary for them to change from being a bad leader to being a good leader?
