    Reflect on the structure and life

    This is an optional activity.

    Please take half a day together with your whole leadership team to do this assignment.

    There are three possibilities regarding every one of our current structures:[1]

    • It came from life and continues to serve and support life. This should be continued.
    • It came from life but no longer serves and supports life. This should be eliminated or changed.
    • It did not come from life and does not support life. This should be eliminated.

    With your leadership team, reflect on your current organisational structure:

    • Where did your structures come from originally? Is it simply because you “have always done it this way before”? Or did the structures arise naturally out of the actual needs of the organisation’s life?
    • Do the structures currently serve and support life? Or do they get in the way?
    • Do the structures serve you or do you serve the structures?
    • Do the structures actually result in things that are alive and beneficial?
    • What needs to be affirmed and continued? What needs to be changed or eliminated?
