Defining board member responsibilities:

• Exodus 18:21
• Deuteronomy 1:13
• Duty of Care
• Duty of Loyalty
• Duty of Obedience
• Do they serve in good faith? That is, do they have the right motives? Are they honest with no intent to defraud or deceive?
• Do they serve in a manner that he or she believes is in the best interest of the organisation?
• And finally, do they exercise the judgment that would be expected of any prudent person in similar circumstances?

• What responsibilities does your board currently have?
• Which responsibilities are you currently undertaking that should be part of the boards responsibilities?
• What does handing over some of the responsibilities look like to you?
• What is going well?
• What gaps do you have and how might you close those gaps?
